Ticket to Ride: France and Old West

Ticket to Ride Map Collection: Volume 6 – France & Old West includes a double-sided game board that features France on one side and the western half of the United States on the other.

In the France half of this expansion, 2-5 players collect train cards and claim routes in order to complete tickets in hand, but most of the tracks on the board aren’t colored! Each time that you draw cards, you must take a colored tile that’s 2-5 train cars long and place that tile on an empty track bed. Once you’ve done this, any player can claim that route by discarding the appropriately colored cards from hand, as in any other Ticket to Ride game. (Single-length routes are already colored, and the map contains a number of gray-colored ferry routes.)

Multiple track beds on the game board overlap, and once a tile has placed on the board, any track beds crossed by this tile are off-limits and nothing can be built on them. At the end of the game, players score their tickets, with bonuses being awarded for longest continuous route and most tickets completed.

In the Old West half of the expansion, 2-6 players start the game by choosing (in reverse player order) a starting location for one of their three city pieces. The first route that a player claims must have this city as one of the route’s two endpoints, and each subsequent route claimed must connect to that player’s existing network.

After claiming a route, a player can place one of their remaining cities on either end of that route by discarding a matching pair of train cards. Only one city marker can be in each city. Whenever a player builds a route that connects to a city owned by another player, the owner of the city claims the points for the route, not the player placing the trains. If both endpoints of the route have cities, then the owner of each city scores these points. Whoever completes the most tickets in this expansion scores 15 bonus points.

Game of Thrones LCG: Kingsmoot

A kingsmoot has not been called in hundreds of years. But in the Iron Islands, the tide is changing with the mysterious death of Balon Greyjoy and the return of Euron Crow’s Eye. The Drowned God is roiling in his watery halls, the ironborn are returning to the old way, and the first kingsmoot in centuries has been called. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Kingsmoot, the third Chapter Pack in the Flight of Crows cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game!

In the tradition of the other Chapter Packs of the Flight of Crows cycle, Kingsmoot contains sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty distinct cards), offering brand-new cards for the eight factions of A Game of Thrones: The Card Game. As the story of the cycle continues to follow the events of A Feast for Crows, you’ll see characters such as Ramsay Snow, Raff the Sweetling, Jhiqui, and Darkstar entering the game, alongside two new neutral Brotherhood characters. As the bestow keyword gains strength, other cards reward you for forging alliances between factions—but no matter who you fight for, you’ll find the cards you need at the Kingsmoot!

Maximum Apocalypse (includes free expansion while supplies last!)

We Kickstarted this one, and our copies just arrived!

Maximum Apocalypse is a cooperative roguelike adventure game for 1-6 players. In Maximum Apocalypse, civilization has already fallen. The players are survivors of the apocalypse whose mission is to survive the hostile landscape.

The game map is randomly generated and different every time that you play. On each turn, a player can use up to four actions to explore the map, play cards, equip weapons, scavenge for resources, draw cards or battle off monsters.

Picking a unique survivor class within the group, players must plan their strategy and work together while leaning on their survivor’s strengths in order to defeat monsters and avoid starvation. For example, the Fireman is deadly up close with his ax and can easily chop down monsters; meanwhile the stealthy Hunter is great at scouting the map and avoiding traps — but roaming monsters are gathering quickly and time is running out. If you are overwhelmed by monsters or die of starvation, the players lose. If they can find enough gas and get it back to their van to escape, they all win and live to play another scenario.

While our initial supplies last, we are also including the Kaiju Rising expansion with purchase of the core set!

When monolithic beasts rose from the oceans, our military tried to stop them. As we killed them at great expense and destruction, more kept rising from the depths. Our world is their`s now! They roam the landscape as an ever-present threat, while the last of us scrounge on what`s left from our crumbled civilization. Maximum Apocalypse: Kaiju Rising introduces two new survivor characters (the Army Ranger and Scientist) as well as a new Apocalypse Deck of 30 cards with new missions and challenges.

Brass Empire – Back in stock!

Brass Empire is a steampunk-themed deck-building game where each player takes on the role of a different corporation to hire the best employees, construct buildings, and manufacture steam-powered machines. Players battle and sabotage each other to amass economic wealth and influence to win the game.

Welcome to the steampunk world of Cobalt. For centuries, Cobalt has been ruled by corporations seeking to enhance their wealth and influence with Brass. Brass doesn’t just fuel the economy but literally fuels the technology and transportation of the world through its unique thermodynamic properties. Every day these companies compete and battle to expand their territory and authority. Companies work to optimize their labor force and resources to mine the most Brass in each territory through corporate espionage, technology, security, and even sabotage. You work for such a company and have been tasked with expanding into a new region by constructing new corporate buildings, hiring employees, and battling other companies in the area. The player who earns the most Brass will lead his company to victory in the region.

Each turn, you will play Employee cards from your hand to gain resources. These resources will allow you to acquire new Employees, Buildings and Units for your deck. Along the way, you will acquire buildings to enhance your hold on the region and command units to attack other companies and mine for Brass. At the end of the game, the player with the most Brass is the winner.

Wildcatters

Wildcatters is a tactical and strategic board game set during the booming business of the 19th century oil industry!

The players are oil barons who develop oil fields; bid for oil rights; and build rigs, oil tankers, trains, and refineries. Your goal is to deliver more oil barrels to the continents than the other players while also collecting more shares and money then them.

The game lasts seven rounds with four players, and the game set-up is the same for each player, with three rigs, two trains, one tanker and one refinery being placed on the board. The game board features a world map divided into eight areas where you can find oil. Players choose an open area card and get money to build rigs, tankers, trains and refineries, after which they can buy oil actions. The players work together in an oilfield to find oil at a lower cost. The players transport oil together to the refineries, using trains and tankers from other players to deliver oil to the refineries – and all with one purpose: deliver more oil than the other players by the end of the game.

Pendragon: The Fall of Roman Britain

“At that time all members of the assembly, along with the proud tyrant, are blinded; such is the protection they find for their country (it was, in fact, its destruction) that those wild Saxons, of accursed name, hated by God and men, should be admitted into the island, like wolves into the folds, in order to repel the northern nations. Nothing more hurtful, certainly, nothing more bitter, happened to the island than this.”
– Gildas (De Excidio Britanniae, Part I.23)

So wrote the 6th Century AD British monk Gildas in his pamphlet De Excidio Britanniae (“On the Ruin of Britain”) about what had befallen the Romano-British lands. This crucial period in history saw the end of the Roman Empire in Britain and the seeds of the modern nations of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Brittany. Most of us know next to nothing about this period, but we know of its legends – from King Arthur and his knights, through Merlin, Vortigern and Hengest, Badon Hill and the Isle of Avalon, to St. Patrick and Niall of the Nine Hostages…

Volume VIII in GMT’s COIN Series transports us into the 4th and 5th Centuries A.D. and to the embattled Isle of Britannia. Pendragon – The Fall of Roman Britain covers a century of history from the first large-scale raids of Irish, Pict, and Saxon raiders, to the establishment of successor kingdoms, both Celtic and Germanic. This sumptuous volume adapts the celebrated asymmetrical COIN engine to depict the political, military, religious, and economic struggles of Dark Ages Britain.
